Hitting The Charts

Happy to report Musetrap And The Laird has entered the Apple charts, in the top one hundred shows in Arts.

This has happened much sooner than expected, it’s due to you, the listener. Every interaction with your podcast app or site, following, rating, reviewing the podcast, helps to make it more visible to other listeners, weird algorithms decide all. Telling people you know is still the best marketing, and just listening to the show each fortnight is the most help of all.

Musetrap raises his strong black coffee to your health, The Laird his green tea, your support is truly appreciated.

3CR Spoken Word Show

3CR is a community radio station in Naarm/Melbourne Australia, an amazing promoter and supporter of the local arts scene. The show called Spoken Word is a kind of hub for the solid local spoken word community and the wider Australian scene.

Musetrap And The Laird are grateful to 3CR Spoken Word for playing a couple of tracks on their show. Not only the exposure, but the feeling of being part of a tradition and a community.

Episode Eight

The Newsreader Is Crying, episode eight of Musetrap And The Laird, was released today. News, news, news, the tyranny of news.

Musetrap is often too immersed in his laboratory of sound to notice the news, unless the aliens land with a new musical style the news is unlikely to interest him. The Laird believes the news is something one should be in, not something one should consume.

Finding your own peace with the twenty four cycle is an essential modern skill.

Thank you for supporting this independent podcast.

First US Review

Because Apple is set up regionally it’s difficult to see reviews from other countries. The first review from a US listener just came to the attention of The Laird and Musetrap, they offer their thanks to Magzgagz.

Great little nuggets of words and music

I love these gems of short stories and music. Somehow they manage to be intriguing, humorous, profound, and soothing all at the same time. And 5 minutes is just right for my attention span.

Following the podcast, writing a review and clicking on a five star rating makes a huge difference to the visibility of the show for other people. Independent productions can disappear in the crowd, every rating on every site helps. Thanks to all who have helped to get Musetrap And The Laird up and running.

Episode Seven

Episode Seven is a little whimsical, wishing and wondering and tea.

I Live In San Francisco and Mug Shot, aspects of romance, a city and a sliding door.

If you have anything to say about the show feel free to get in touch, via the e mail address below or the comments section on this page. The Laird and Musetrap would love to hear from you. Well, The Laird will feign indifference, but be interested despite himself, and Musetrap is in retreat in Bhutan, so he’ll catch up eventually, but philosophically, and in the long term, they’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for supporting this independent podcast.

Episode Six

Episode Six, When You Aren’t Afraid, has been released.

This one is more groove based than previous episodes, with some light hearted, cliché ridden chat about fear. The tag line, a podcast of music and words, is a genuine aim of the show, to present a blend of sounds that create a whole, never just words with some background music.

May you enjoy this weeks offering in good spirit, and with stout heart.

Support Of The Financial Kind

Musetrap And The Laird now has a subscription option via their hosting site, Buzzsprout.

Support Musetrap And The Laird

Your regular contribution will help to pay for hosting fees and recording equipment. There’s no offer of stickers or extra episodes, the hope is that the support of some will keep the show free for all.

The Laird, speaking from a village fete, asked you all to imagine a nice old lady has asked you to subscribe to the local church roof fund. Musetrap, enjoying the last of summer whilst dining on a floating restaurant on the Danube, assures you all your money will be well spent.
