Seeking Animators And Illustrators

Musetrap And The Laird podcast is seeking collaboration with animators and illustrators.

Bring your own style to the recorded soundtrack and narration.

Take a listen to a few episodes, all around five minutes, some pieces are as short as a minute. There’s a broad range of material, sci fi to silliness, plenty to play with.

Anyone interested can write to: musetrapandthelaird@gmail.com

Episode Twenty One

Leonard And Philomena, episode twenty one.

Anyone raised on 1960s and 70s cartoons will dig this crazy couple, cat and bird, glamorous dancing fools. The Laird and Musetrap had fun making this one.

Sometimes a story is just a story, just for the fun of it, just because Leonard and Philomena were imagined and therefore had to dance.

Thank you for supporting this independent podcast.

A New Subscriber, A New Donor, Thank You

Two new supporters have helped out the podcast this week.

Many thanks to LL for subscribing via our podcast home at Buzzsprout. And just as many thanks to SC for a donation via Supercast.

All contributions go towards paying hosting fees and buying new equipment, there is also a live show in development. The show doesn’t offer any bonus material for financial support, all are equal, some help out so it can remain free of advertising and remain free for all.

If you’d prefer to donate via PayPal the account corresponds with the podcast e mail, musetrapandthelaird@gmail.com.

Episode Twenty

Lloyd Atlantic is a detective character, he has made one appearance on the podcast so far. Episode Twenty is his origin story.

Instead of over explaining tales of a detective, Lloyd Atlantic is a bare bones affair, you are invited to imagine him how he pleases you, and the scenes can be anywhere, even though the author sees this episode as set in the Collingwood area of Melbourne Australia, post World War II.

The twentieth episode of any podcast is something of a milestone. Most producers give up within three episodes, and nearly all before twenty episodes, only a small percentage of all podcasts continue beyond twenty. Thanks to your support Musetrap And The Laird is here now, and well set to continue and grow into the future.

If you want to help the show reach new listeners the best way is to follow, rate and review wherever you listen. To help with the expenses of hosting, equipment and developing a live show you can subscribe at the show’s podcast home Buzzsprout for as little as three dollars a month.

Thank you for supporting this independent podcast.

Musetrap Baroque Laboratories

The Musetrap half of Musetrap And The Laird is Musetrap Baroque Laboratories, a sound production house hidden away in the Australian bush . . . somewhere.

Little is known of Musetrap Baroque Laboratories or the person or people behind it. Is it one studio, or a collective of like minded sound engineers? All communication arrives via a generic Musetrap, whether this is a person or the organisation is unknown.

The Laird, who works with this Musetrap, has little to say on the subject. “You’ll know about Musetrap what Musetrap wants you to know about Musetrap”, he tells any who ask. There is speculation that The Laird doesn’t know any more than anyone else.

What is known is Musetrap composes and plays all the music and edits and produces the podcast. It could be said they do nearly all the work, while The Laird is a bit of a show pony. The Laird does not deny this. “I send Musetrap a story and a show comes back”, he says, without shame.

You can contact Musetrap Baroque Laboratories via the podcast e mail address: musetrapandthelaird@gmail.com.
